FAQ
Answers before your next assignment.
Understand the calculations, imports, assignor tools, and the current pilot scope.
What does RefRoute calculate?
RefRoute uses game fees and your assumptions to estimate expenses, net before tax, committed time, and effective hourly rate. Time can include travel, arrival, officiating, and waiting.
How do I bring in existing assignments?
Add assignments manually or upload a CSV or ICS calendar file in the official workspace. Review the imported entries and fill in missing fees or travel assumptions.
Does RefRoute connect directly to assigning platforms?
Direct platform connections are not yet live. File imports do not establish a live connection or keep an external platform synchronized. Only upload exports you are authorized to use; RefRoute does not ask for your platform password.
Are travel times and earnings guaranteed?
No. Travel currently uses standard planning assumptions, not live directions or traffic. Results are estimates based on the inputs shown. Delays, changed fees, and unexpected costs can change the actual outcome.
Is net before tax the same as take-home pay?
No. Net before tax subtracts the modeled expenses from gross fees. It does not calculate your taxes, deductions, or complete personal financial situation.
Can I change the assumptions?
Yes. Review and edit the assignment details and your planning assumptions when the trip, timing, or cost changes.
What can an assignor manage?
Assignors can manage their own organizations, games, officials roster, rate cards, and crew assignments, including CSV schedule import with an editable preview. Organization ownership scopes the workspace.
Does assigning a crew notify the official?
Not yet. Crew assignments are saved records in the assignor workspace; they do not send invitations, obtain an official's acceptance, or update an external platform. Confirm with the official through your existing process.
Are my private planning inputs shared with assignors?
Private goals and precise origins are personal planning inputs. Assignor workflows are scoped to organization and assignment information. See the privacy page for the product's data boundaries.
What does the pilot cost?
The founder pilot is $0 during controlled validation. No payment is collected, and paid plans have not launched.
Can I use RefRoute on a phone?
The web application has responsive layouts for smaller screens. You can open it in your phone's browser.
Will RefRoute find or guarantee more games?
No. It helps you understand and manage assignments. It does not guarantee assignments, income, or eligibility.
What happens when I import the same schedule twice?
Matching imported game identities are skipped, not overwritten. Review the per-row results. Use an external game ID when available, and edit a saved assignment if details later change.
What are the import limits?
Each upload can contain up to 200 rows and 500 KB. Officials can use CSV or non-recurring ICS events; assignors use CSV. Split larger schedules into smaller files, and review missing or invalid fields before saving.
How do referee and roster levels work?
Your profile level is self-reported. An assignor's 1–10 roster scale is local to that organization, not a verified federation certification. The assignor remains responsible for checking eligibility and availability.
Where is the optimizer?
Sign in and select Optimizer in the referee navigation, or choose Compare schedules from Schedule. Load your saved games for a day, weekend, or week; review directed travel estimates; then choose net earnings, effective hourly value, minimum driving, or balanced value. All timeframes are included during the pilot; paid billing is not launched.
Will optimization cancel an accepted game?
No. Accepted games are fixed by default. Allow replacing accepted assignments creates a what-if scenario and lists any commitments you would need to release. RefRoute does not cancel, accept, or change games on an assigning platform.
How are shared travel and waiting calculated?
Games at a confirmed common location can share the inbound and outbound trip. Time between games counts toward the day. Each local date is a separate trip, so overnight hours between dates do not count. Period hourly value is total net before tax divided by total committed hours.
What are the optimizer limits?
A run supports up to 20 candidate assignments and a fixed search budget. If the search stops early, results are labeled incomplete—not guaranteed best. Missing travel estimates block affected combinations. Unsupported overnight games, accepted conflicts, and incomplete accepted inputs require review. Direct maps, credential verification, marketplace offers, and season analytics are not provided by this personal scenario tool.
How do I delete my account?
Open Profile and choose Delete account. The confirmation page requires your current password, typing DELETE, and acknowledging the consequences. This removes your saved personal data and any assignor organizations you own; it cannot be undone through the application.
